Robert Cain

 

Born: April 5, 1791 in Fauquier County, Virginia

Passed: September 14, 1868 in Platte County, Missouri

 

Robert Cain was a soldier in the War of 1812.  He was first married to Jane Burnett in Shelby County, Kentucky in 1813.  They had nine children, to wit Bailey, John, Sarah, William, Newton, Glen, Bettie Ann, Mary, and Thomas.  Bailey and Sarah died in early youth.  Glen O. died at the age of 6. Mary died at about 12. Bettie Ann died about 24. Thomas died at about 18.  John B. lived for 64 years, dying on December 14, 1880.

 

After his first wife died, he married the second time to Bettie Ann May, widow of Dr. W. S. May.  They were blessed with four additional children, to wit Burnett, Emil, Franklin, and Henry.

 

Robert Cain finally passed at the age of 77 years, 6 months, and 9 days.

His mother’s grandmother was supposedly the sister of the father of Jefferson Finis Davis who was president of the Confederate States of America.
